Branch Libraries
The Central State Library is a mother organisation under which other branches in the rural and urban areas are functioning in the UT Chandigarh. With the demographic expansion in the UT Chandigarh, comprising a sizeable proportion of the literate population, the demand for library services began to emerge in the 1970s. Consequently the Administration extended the library services of the Central State Library through a network of branch libraries in urban as well as far of rural areas.

Opening & Location:
This branch of the T. S. Central State Library was inaugurated in August 2018 and is situated opposite the Community Centre in Sector 23 The Branch Library, Sector 23, Chandigarh functions under the administrative control of the T.S. Central State Library, Sector 17, Chandigarh. It has primarily been established as a Reading Hall to facilitate students, competitive examination aspirants, and the general public.

It operates Monday to Saturday, from 10 AM to 6 PM

It mainly functions as a reading hall facility for students, competitive exam aspirants, and the general public.
It provides access to newspapers, magazines, and a limited collection of books.
It is meant to supplement the main Central State Library (Sector 17) by offering additional reading space and basic library services to nearby residents.
